New Client Tips for our Duval Location

We are here to help! We care about our clients, the services we provide and we work hard to maintain a professional relationship and reputation our clients tell others about. Duval is our fourth location and sits back in a quiet neighborhood area just off Tate's Creek near Man O' War Blvd. Enter through Suite 230 please into the waiting area.

Amanda Brashear, LPCC-S, LCADC is the manager of the Duval Office.

Thank you for allowing LCP to assist you in reaching your goals and improving your overall wellbeing. Here are a few things to know about your appointment at our Duval location prior to your first session:

• You will receive an email invitation to our patient portal. Please complete registration and the intake paperwork that can be found on your patient portal. 

• Please bring in your insurance card and form of payment at time of service. EAP authorizations are required before attending first appointment. 

• If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give a 24 hour notice or it is subject to a fee of $75.00.

• Our waiting room is now open. Please find a seat and your therapist will greet you and escort you back to your therapy office at your scheduled appt time. There is no need to check yourself in. If you are waiting longer than 10 minutes, please give our main office a call at 859 338 0466. Bathrooms can be found in each of our kitchenette areas and are open for any client to use. 

• If your session is pertaining to court , FMLA, emotional support animal, or child custody, your therapist will refer you out to someone who can provide that service for you. 

• Directions and Parking: Our office is located at 1092 Duval Street, Ste 230, Lexington, KY 40515. If you are turning right off of Tate’s Creek Road onto Duval Street, our building is the 2nd on the left. Our building is located directly in front of Boyd Thornton Dental. Parking can be found in front of the building, in the side parking lot, or in the back of the building.

If this is your first visit

1. Make sure you have your New Client paperwork with you or you completed it online and that is it filled out completely. We have copies in the entryway if you need one.
   
2. If you are using insurance for the visit make sure you have contacted them prior to the appointment to insure coverage. Many plans require preauthorization before services are obtained. You may also want to ask your insurance company about your deductible and copayment. We will need this information in your first session.
   
3. We prefer checks and cash for your payment, but we also accept credit cards.
   
4. Take a deep breath and try to relax. Most people are anxious when they begin therapy. We will gladly answer any of your questions about the process when our session begins.
   
5. If you have never been to therapy, your experience is likely to differ from your expectations. Your clinician will ask some questions, allow you to describe the issues and or concerns you need help with, and assist you in setting goals to help.
   
6. A typical session lasts around 50-60 minutes.
   
7. The therapists in our practice are licensed by the State of Kentucky to practice. We are also committed to continued education and collaboration and we are fluent in evidenced based practices. What does that mean? Our clinicians use what has been proven to work, practice within the limits of our expertise, and do not use experimental or unproven therapies or techniques. We educate clients well so please ask questions.
