New Client Tips for Our Richmond Location

Where is the office located?


Our Richmond office is located at 1043 Center Dr. From the Robert R. Martin Bypass, you will turn onto Berea Road. From there You will make a left turn onto Center Drive at the light across from Kroger. Once on Center Drive you will pass the Dollar General Store on your right, UK Markey Cancer Center on your left, and several other office buildings. Our building is located on the left hand side of the road. You will see the sign for Lexington Counseling and Psychiatry Offices of Paul Dalton in front of the building. It is a stand alone, red brick building with parking available at the front and side.


What do I do once I arrive?


You will enter through the front door. We do not have a receptionist so there is no need to check in. Our waiting area will be directly in front of you. Please come in and have a seat and make yourself comfortable. Your therapist will come out to greet you at the time of your appointment. If you have waited more than 15 minutes, please call our office at 859-388-0466 and our admin staff will assist you. Restrooms are down the hall to the left from the waiting area.


How do I complete the paperwork?


When you sign up as a new client with our administrative staff, an email will be sent to you asking you to set up a portal. Please note the link to the portal is only good for 48 hours. The new client paperwork forms will be assigned to you in your portal. Please complete each form to the best of your knowledge and your clinician will go over everything during the first session with you. If you are unable to access the portal, please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your first appointment to allow for time to complete a paper copy of the paperwork located on either side of our waiting area on a clipboard. 


What should I expect at the first session?


The first session will be utilized to build rapport with one another, review paperwork, establish therapeutic treatment goals, identify areas of concern, and provide referrals and resources as needed. Sessions typically last 53 minutes to an hour and your clinician will assist in scheduling follow up appointments.


What payment do you accept?


At the first session your therapist will confirm whether you are using insurance, an Employee Assistance Plan or Self Pay. At each session you attend your therapist will let you know what your amount is, whether it is a copay or deductible amount. Payment is due at the time of each service and the therapist will collect payment from you.
