Robert 'Adam' Lynch, LPCC-Therapist
Staff, Lexington (Darby Creek)
My name is Robert Lynch but I go by Adam. I love working with teenage and adult clients who want to improve the quality of their life and desire guidance regarding how to make their goals a reality. Believe me when I say that I know how hard it can be to open up and discuss your problems, but I promise that doing so can be life changing. My goal as a counselor is to create a calm, welcoming and supportive environment where you can say what you need to say, feel what you need to feel and figure out your next steps with an invested helping hand. My perspective is that counseling is a partnership between two experts - the counselor, who is the expert regarding mental health, and the client who is the expert on themselves - only by working together can we create the change you seek. Ultimately, it is my hope that I can assist you in becoming a happier, healthier and more resilient version of yourself who is better prepared to weather the inevitable trials and tribulations of life.
I graduated from the University of Kentucky where I earned both my Master's and Specialist of Education degrees in Counseling Psychology. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric care, therapeutic foster care and public education. Through these experiences I discovered my passion for working with teenage and adult clients who are struggling with difficulties related to their thoughts, mood, behavior or traumatic experiences. I support my clients primarily by using Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior therapies, which focus on improving your ability to manage negative thoughts and soothe challenging emotions. As a holistic practitioner I emphasize the importance of improving our physical and spiritual wellbeing, in addition to our mental health.
I accept clients who are ten years of age or older and am available by appointment in the morning, afternoon and evening. I look forward to hearing from you!
