Kelly is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Kentucky and provides individual, couples, and family therapy and counseling services to adults and adolescents. After completing her bachelor’s degree in psychology at DePauw University, Kelly continued her education at the University of Kentucky to obtain a master’s degree in counseling psychology and an educational specialist degree in counseling psychology. Kelly has an extensive history working with individuals with traumatic backgrounds and mental illness. She is also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. Kelly has worked in community mental health, schools and academic systems to assist individuals and families with mental health needs.


Kelly Garringer-Maccabe, M.S., Ed.S, LPCC assists clients with a variety of issues, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, gender and identity disorders, trauma, grief, personality disorders, family problems, life adjustments, stress, and relationship problems. She utilizes evidence-based practices and treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Kelly integrates mindfulness techniques into sessions and encourages self-exploration. 


Kelly provides a practical, collaborative approach to therapy and considers each client’s unique needs and goals in developing treatment plans. She provides a foundation of trust, mutual respect, and non-judgment in therapy that allows clients to feel comfortable while gaining inner and external resources to improve their relationships with themselves and accomplish goals.
