I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 23 years of experience in assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of clinical issues. I have a B. A. from Florida State University, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky.
I specialize in working with children and adolescents diagnosed with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, ADHD, ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), and trauma and abuse issues. In my work with children and adolescents I believe that it is important to involve family members and caregivers to help identify problems and successfully treat them.
Of various treatment methods I am qualified to apply, I primarily use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). I also use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) when needed for adolescents and adults.
My experience in different settings includes inpatient adult psychiatric, residential treatment for adolescent females, school family resource center, community mental health, and private practice.
For over 16 years I have provided clinical supervision to certified social workers in preparation for the Kentucky LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) exam.
